Maintenance Technician

Essential Job Duties:

• Read and interpret equipment manuals.
• Troubleshooting and repairing the following: hydraulics, pneumatics, gearboxes, conveyor equipment, powders/liquids feeders, mills, cranes, and other industrial equipment
• Read and follow blueprints and electrical diagrams.
• Maintain a clean working environment and follow safety guidelines and policies.
• Respond to maintenance calls promptly.
• Work with other coworkers and contractors to complete tasks.
• Be willing to learn and assist in waste management program.
• Good team skills
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Reliable presence and promptness on-premises
• Ability to communicate with Supervisors, Associates, and Contractors for work projects
• Project management, including task sequencing, resource management, and scheduling,
• Specialty Skills such as welding, carpentry, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, etc.
• Researching information, decision-making, and problem-solving
• Performing general physical activities such as handling and moving objects
• Basic math skills as it pertains to facility and equipment maintenance
• Ability to be on feet for extended periods of time working in a variety of climates
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to wear a respirator

Qualification Requirements

Required Education and Experience

• Minimum of High school diploma or GED
• Must have 5+ years of experience in facility maintenance or a related field.
• Welding skills 
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus.
• Certifications in maintenance and/or related fields
• Certified Forklift operation
• Current Driver’s License and clean record
• Experience leading tasks and monitoring contractors
• Experience with building and grounds maintenance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Certified Welder
• Construction
• Electrical experience 
• Experience in waste management 
• Supervisory/mentoring experience 
• Journeyman in a trade
