Purpose

Provide front-end development and UX/UI design for websites, enterprise applications and other digital products for Dell Medical School and UT Health Austin. Collaborate closely as part of the DevOps team and with members of the enterprise to deliver high quality products and services that are engaging, sustainable and aligned with business goals. 

Responsibilities

UX/UI Design

  • Translate abstract ideas and requirements into tangible UX artifacts to help enterprise customers align on a vision and path forward for digital products.

  • Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, technical constraints/opportunities and usability findings.

  • Design the user interface and interaction flows for a variety of digital products for various device platforms, screen sizes and interaction models.

  • Rapidly iterate on prototypes, visual design mockups and wireframes to test new concepts/ideas to collaborate with customers for final product implementation.

  • Advocate for users and ensure the user experience is in line with the goals and mission of a product and the enterprise mission.

  • Solve UX/UI problems for emerging technologies, platforms, and devices.

  • Ensure designs generated through such service meet accessibility standards as required by the University and DMS.

Frontend Development

  • Utilize industry standard web design tools (such as HTML 5, CSS3 and JavaScript) to design, build and maintain mission aligned digital products with a strong usability focus that are accessible on a variety of devices.

  • Leverage design patterns and frontend frameworks/libraries to enhance usability, functionality and reduce development times.

  • Produce immersive digital experiences that provide unique storytelling opportunities.

  • Build, update, and maintain templates, design systems and visual style guides.

  • Optimize and maintain codebases to ensure the best performance.

  • Consult with internal teams to ensure compliance with applicable policies on website usage, style and standards, in collaboration with other DMS IT teams and UT Information Security Office(ISO).

  • Stay informed about and current on new technologies and best practices with frontend development.

Quality Assurance

  • Provide guidance to customers about best practices from an industry standard aspect as well as for conformity with the mission of the enterprise.

  • Listen to customer feedback and recommendations to help inform future product improvements.

  • Implement metrics tracking, and analyze product performance to help make data-informed recommendations for improvement.
