ABOUT THIS POSITION:
EXPECTED HIRING RANGE: $65,270.40 - 79,955.20
WORK LOCATION: 105-A Upchurch Street, Apex, NC 27502
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm

WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
This position is responsible for supervision and coordination of a team
of 2-5 full-time employees, (Equipment operators, Utility Maintenance Workers
etc.) engaged in the operation, maintenance, and repair of the assigned utility
assets (Water or Sewer). The position plays a vital role within the
organizational leadership, guiding team members in the pursuit of strategic goals
and fostering a positive work culture. The position evaluates and documents team
members’ performance, provides feedback and helps team members develop and
enhance their skills. This position has supervisory
responsibilities.
This position is supervised by the Pump Maintenance Supervisor.
A SAMPLE OF THE ESSENTIALS:
- Coordinates and participates in daily activities of 2 to 5 man work teams.
- Assigns daily work order and service requests
- Processes and reports information, assuring thorough work order completion.
- Quantifies and orders materials and supplies for daily activities and projects.
- Train and assist subordinates in utility discipline skill development.
- Attends and conducts safety meetings with team members; assures compliance with all OSHA regulated work activities and Town safety policies.
- Conducts performance evaluations, mentors and coaches team members.
- Participates in hiring interviews.
- Problem solves issues and address challenges.
- Performs Equipment and Vehicle operation to Town standards and policies.
- Serves as Primary Supervisory contact in the On-Call rotation.
- Coordinates, assists and monitors team members engaged in the performance of the pump station operations, maintenance and repair program.
- Assures compliance with State issued sewer utility system permits.
- Evaluates pump station SCADA and inspection data and documents performance trends.
- Recommends repairs/replacements to Supervisor.
- Documents repair/replacement costs.
- Creates weekly work plan and associated work orders for work teams.
- Coordinates and documents Standby Generator maintenance and repair needs.
- Maintains records of team members' performance and behavioral issues.
- Serves as backup ORC.
- Performs other job-related tasks as required.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED:
High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of three (3) years of experience
Special Qualifications
- Class III Collections certification or ability to obtain within 1 year of hire.
- OSHA Competent Person Certificate
- OSHA Trenching and Shoring Certificate
- OSHA Confined Space Certificate
