MWC is a state of the art cheese and whey production facility in St. Johns, MI. MWC is a joint venture between Glanbia Nutritionals, Dairy Farmers of America (DFA), and Select Milk Producers Inc. (Select).

 

Job Summary

Install, diagnosis and repair industrial equipment. Monitor equipment and process functions to ensure they operate at designed efficiencies.

 

Essential Functions

  1. Responsible for electrical, mechanical, hydraulic & pneumatic maintenance repair/diagnosis of machinery and equipment.
  2. Assists triaging all incoming calls and prioritized scheduled work assignments while managing daily maintenance operations.
  3. Assist operators and maintenance employees in diagnosing malfunctions in machinery and equipment.
  4. Competent in dismantling, assembling, and installing industrial machinery.
  5. Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  6. Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  7. Repairs and maintains machinery such as pneumatic tools, motors, conveyor systems, production machines and equipment using testing instruments, hand and power tools and precision-measuring instruments.
  8. Work on the chemical dosing pumps, valves and plumbing in the CIP kitchens.
  9. Steam Boiler & Refrigeration systems competency
  10. Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on equipment.
  11. Analyzes equipment failures, determines root cause and makes necessary adjustments.
  12. Repairs, maintains, replaces, installs and tests electrical components such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices.
  13. Replaces electric motor bearings and rewire motor.
  14. General knowledge in shaft alignment
  15. Tests malfunctioning machinery and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers, to diagnose malfunction.
  16. Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables using electrical hand tools and voltage or ampere measuring devices.
  17. Provide mentorship to Maintenance Tech 1 & 2
  18. General SAP knowledge
  19. Maintains work areas in a clean, orderly, and safe manner to include returning tools to designated areas
  20. Utilizes GPS processes, driving zero losses and upholds the culture of Glanbia non-negotiables.
  21. Each employee shall comply with occupational safety and health standards and all rules, regulations, and orders issued pursuant to the Occupational Safety and Health  Act which are applicable to his/her own actions and conduct.
  22. Complies with all applicable food safety regulations and mandates (Safe Quality Foods, Food and Drug Admin, Pasteurized Milk Ordinance)

Qualifications

 

  1. High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  2. A minimum of 3 year Electrical / Mechanical maintenance experience required.
  3. Boiler & Ammonia Operator I certification
  4. Desire to grow with the company
  5. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  6. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general pub
