Northrop Grumman is seeking a cyber engineer to join our team in Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL.

Roles and responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

  • Designs, develops, and implements security solutions for IT infrastructure, ensuring protection against threats and unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.
  • Performs risk and vulnerability assessments
  • Develops security architecture and documentation
  • Oversees security controls, compliance, and continuous monitoring
  • Collaborates with IT and DevOps teams on secure system development, and responding to security incidents
  • Coordinates with larger Cyber team on system security, compliance, and accreditation within the Risk Management Framework (RMF)

This position may be filled at a higher level based on the requirements below.

Basic Qualifications Principal Level 3:

- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 5 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 3 years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma or GED equivalent with 9 years of relevant experience

-DoD IAT Level III Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.

-Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and developing technical proposals.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with employees and management at all levels.

-US citizenship required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain DoD Secret security clearance following hire. 

-The ability to be granted special program access (SAP/SAR) within 1 year of hire date.

-The ability to maintain both your security clearance and program access is required for this position.

-Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.

- Bachelor's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math discipline with 8 years of relevant experience OR Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience OR a high school diploma or GED equivalent with 12 years of relevant experience

-DoD IAT Level III Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) Certification.

-Experience working on a multidisciplinary team and developing technical proposals.

-Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interface with employees and management at all levels.

-US citizenship required. Candidates must be eligible to obtain DoD Secret security clearance following hire.

Preferred Qualifications

-Experience in planning and configuring enterprise-level security tools, including the configuration, installation, and operations and maintenance (O&M) of Splunk, Trellix and Nessus.

-Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) System Security Engineering activities.

-Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF), Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG), and requirements development from control listings.

-Capable of assessing the Program's system security posture in compliance with customer requirements and directives.

-Adept at adjusting commercial security methodologies and technologies within sensitive and proprietary customer environments.

-Experience with RMF (NIST 800-37) accreditation functions, including documentation, scanning, assessment, Plan of Action and Milestones (POAM) management, and all steps of the RMF process.

Primary Level Salary Range: $104,800.00 - $157,200.00

Secondary Level Salary Range: $130,500.00 -
