About the role

  • Our Production team, composed of 13 people, is integrated in the F Plant Production department.
  • As a Production Supervisor, you will be in charge of the daily operations of our Alorton, IL plant. You will get the opportunity to contribute to the flourishing Soda Ash and Derivatives Global Business Unit and have a positive impact on Solvay's ambitious transformation initiative aimed at enhancing capabilities and facilitating further expansion.
  • You will be accountable for:
    • Manage plant's supplies and finished product inventory control
    • Manage warehouse activities (packaging, loading, and shipping of all the plant products)
    • Be responsible for continuous improvement in safety, productivity, and quality through training and technology improvement
    • Help all technical areas as a resource to identify, evaluate, justify, design, install, and implement improvements to the site's equipment, production processes, and safety activities
    • Be responsible for achieving production and quality goals to meet customer’s requirements, safety, and environmental goals within the department
    • Coordinate customer service and transportation carriers to meet customer delivery schedules
    • Work with other departments within the facility to prioritize lab analysis, and maintenance activities and to meet the shipping program
    • Contribute to meeting department budget and cost control
  • We offer a permanent contract based on onsite working mode.

 

About you

  • Relevant education degree or equivalent in Chemical or Industrial Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in chemical processing or manufacturing operations such as Product Inventory, and Warehousing Operations.
  • Competencies:
    • Experienced supervising/leading teams in a union environment
    • Fluency in English is mandatory. Any other language is a plus
    • SAP
    • ISO requirements
    • SPC
    • Knowledge of statistics

 

About the pay and benefits

  • Attractive and equitable pay for all: compensation is determined within a range to foster your development in the role. While the U.S. base pay reasonably expected for this role is $85,000.00 to $105,000.00, your salary may ultimately be higher or lower based on your skills and experience. Additionally, we provide a competitive total rewards package that includes a bonus and/or other incentives.
