The Boeing CompanyThe Boeing Company is currently hiring for an Entry-Level Embedded Software Engineer to join the Phantom Works Mission Systems Software team located in Berkeley, Missouri. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Defense, Space & Security (BDS) business organization.
You will work in a collaborative team environment helping to develop real-time software solutions, utilize simulations and emulations, and develop software processes in order to meet customer capabilities. This will include developing software and software tests throughout all phases of the software development life cycle (requirements, architecture, implementation, and verification). The software engineer will develop software in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) DevSecOps software build pipeline using an agile methodology focused on code quality, security and automation.
Position Responsibilities:
Assists with the design, development, test, debugging and maintenance of software that is integrated into embedded devices and systems and meets industry, customer, safety and regulation standards
Gathers information to review, analyze, and translate customer requirements into the design of software products for embedded devices and systems
Assists with building and writing code for embedded systems software to run on specific specialized hardware
Participates in integrating embedded software with hardware components
Aids in analyzing, monitoring and improving the efficiency and stability of embedded software systems
Provides information to test and debug software for embedded devices and systems
Assists with implementation of current and emerging technologies, tools, frameworks, and changes in regulations relevant to software development and hardware technologies
Assists with tracking and evaluation of internal and supplier software team performance to ensure product and process compliance to project plans and industry standards
Gathers information to perform embedded software project management functions
This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.
This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required.
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):
Experience in Software Development
Experience in software development with either C++ and/or on the Linux Operating System
Experience with setting up and maintaining a Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) pipeline
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience or familiarity with Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) software build pipeline techniques and software factories such as DevOps & DevSecOps
Experience debugging and troubleshooting technical problems involving computer memory or timing considerations.
Experience or familiarity with industry tools or development techniques such as the following:
Embedded Systems Software
Experience with Linux, Rust, Containers (Docker and Kubernetes), Git, CI/CD DevSecOps (Jira, Gitlab, Ansible, and Artifactory)
Experience with Automated Testing, SAST, and DAST (Google Test, Cucumber, Coverity, and SonarQube)
