We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented Senior Exterior Design Engineer to join our Exterior Design Engineering 1 Team in Farmington Hills, MI.

A Day in the Life:   

• Overall design responsibility for lamps, wipers/washer system, mirrors, horn, and cowl cover.

• Create initial design concepts based on program changes.

• Secure the necessary budget for responsible parts.

• Troubleshoot issues, identify root causes, and propose countermeasures.

• Collaborate with suppliers to meet quality, timing, and cost requirements.

Who We’re Looking for:     

• Ability to gather data, distill key points and propose solutions.

• Self-motivated, self-driven, and detail-oriented problem-solver.

• Excellent organizational and communication skills (both written and verbal).

• Experience in automotive exterior lamps, wipers, and mirrors is a strong plus.

• A valid driver's license is required.

Minimum Qualifications:

Experience:

• 5 or more years of directly related professional-level engineering experience.

Education:

• Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

Physical Requirements:

Travel:

• Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

• Up to 10-20% of domestic and/or international travel may be required.

Overtime:

• Willingness to work overtime as necessary to complete the job.
