Position Summary:
Bentley Systems is hiring a Data Engineer for our Data Office with experience across the entire Cloud Data stack. The ideal candidate will have experience in data pipelines (ELT/ETL), data warehousing and dimensional modeling, and curation of data sets for Data Scientists and Business Intelligence users. This candidate will also have excellent problem-solving ability to deal with large volumes of data.
Responsibilities:

Build scalable Cloud data solutions using MPP Data Warehouses (Databricks, Snowflake and/or Azure Data Warehouse/Synapse), data storage (Azure Blob Storage)

Create and maintain optimized/efficient data pipelines and transformations (ELT – Matillion, FiveTran, ADF)

Write complex SQL queries, stored procedures, etc.

Create data integrations with scripting languages such as Python a plus

Design data models for the data warehouse.

Focused on data quality.

Work as part of the Data Office Architecture and Engineering team to support the data management and engineering needs of the organization.

Work iteratively with the business to understand and accurately deliver on their needs.

Provide estimates, project and deliverable status, and communicate to managers.

Work with a globally distributed team and be comfortable with tools such as Teams/Zoom for meetings and communication and organizing development tasks remotely.
Qualifications:
-
Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience, in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics or a related field. Commensurate work experience will be considered in lieu of degree

Experience building scalable Cloud data solutions using MPP Data Warehouses (Snowflake, Databricks, Redshift, or Azure Data Warehouse/Synapse), data storage (S3 or Azure Blob Storage) and analytics platforms (i.e. Spark, Databricks, etc.)

2+ years with complex SQL queries and scripting

1+ years' experience with Databricks
-
2+ years developing, and deploying scalable enterprise data solutions (Enterprise Data Warehouses, Data Marts, ETL/ELT workloads, etc.)

2+ years of supporting business intelligence and analytic projects

Excellent written and oral communication skills
Desired Skills:
-
Familiarity with Power BI
-
Analytics platforms a plus (i.e. Spark, Databricks, etc.)

Scripting languages such as Python a plus
-
Good understanding of code repositories such as GIT a plus
