Fastly is looking for a Chief Product Officer to join our rapidly growing team. In this role, you will be leading our product management organization. Reporting directly to our CEO, you will be responsible for product vision, strategy, roadmap and execution.  The Chief Product Officer and product team works closely with engineering ensuring our teams are efficient, motivated, and coordinated, and with our go-to-market teams, ensuring that our product has the largest impact possible in the market.

This is a strategic role in the overall leadership of Fastly. As a member of the company’s leadership team, you will help shape Fastly’s overall direction, and ensure technology strategy and business strategy are tightly aligned. 

What You'll Do: 

• Domain knowledge: Prior B2B experience in a scaled platform that manages mission-critical systems for customers
• Technical: Technical product manager that can understand how Fastly provides customers powerful solutions to drive their business
• Communication: An exceptional listener adept at synthesizing inputs from customers, strong technical + visionary founders, sales, engineering, and the executive leadership team; a clear and concise communicator with the ability to simplify technical concepts, voice their own opinion and make sure all constituents feel heard
• Customer focus: Understands the relationship Fastly has with customers: we target engineers and their needs but must translate value to the C-level. Prioritizes strong working relationships with customers and is willing to roll up their sleeves to get initiatives accomplished
• Leadership: Exceptional at hiring and developing strong talent at all levels in the Product organization. Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment
• Product capabilities:
• Global multi-product experience across a diverse set of customers
• Drive all phases of product initiatives and releases while working cross-functionally
• Demonstrated ability to deliver world-class products through a first-class process; knows what excellence and quality look like and how to make it happen
• Ability to create product strategy from a market strategy; gathering and prioritizing product requirements, driving product planning through research and customer feedback, and performing competitive and market problem requirement analysis
• Experience with product pricing optimization; including product development costs, billing models, effective margin management, pricing negotiations and evaluation techniques to gauge success

What We're Looking For: 

• 15+ Years of Global Product Leadership, ideally within high-growth, B2B technology business
• B2B Software/SaaS Experience Experience Product enterprise software solutions, ideally highly technical products to a broad and diverse audience. Selling into tech buyers (devops, CIO, CTO, etc) - not consumer products
• Track Record of Building Strong, High Performing Teams. People leadership experience with a track record of hiring, developing and growing a world-class product organization

Work Hours: This position will require you to be available during core business hours. 

Work Location(s) & Travel Requirements:

This position is based out of Fastly’s San Francisco office. Fastly currently embraces a largely hybrid model for most roles which allows employees flexibility to split their time between the office and home. 

This position may require travel as required by your role or requested by your manager.
