PURPOSE STATEMENT
Responsible for maintaining all plant equipment in clean sanitary condition as directed by an established Sanitation Program in accordance with Good Manufacturing Practices and Good Housekeeping Practices for Industrial Food Processing.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES/OUTCOMES
- Washing, scraping, brushing, mopping and sweeping, of plant production equipment, floors, and structural components.
- Transports production waste material, recyclable solid waste and general plant trash to a centralized assembly area.
- Mixes chemicals in proper ratio for cleaning of process equipment.
- Must occasionally climb ladders to a height of approximately 30 feet.
- Use of hand tools for disassembly and reassembly of production equipment for cleaning.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Must have good communication skills, both written and verbal
- High School Diploma or GED required
- Special certification may be required for use of forklift and chemicals
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed
- One year experience in a manufacturing/ industrial environment
- Medium to high degree of judgment required
- Basic math skills necessary
- Follow all GMP’s, food safety, and quality policies.
- Ensures all GMP and all Food hygiene and Food safety standards are in compliance.
- Report all food safety incidents such as GMP violations, ingredient and product contamination, metal detector, screen, or magnet deficiencies, glass breakage, and pest harborage.
- Ensure compliance in the areas of food defense, food regulations, and product / process quality; provide adequate coaching as needed.
