Enrollment & Billing Specialist

The Enrollment & Billing Specialist is responsible for end-to-end account processing and maintenance. Duties include validating enrollment applications, system entry of enrollment information, analyzing billing against payment received and resolving outstanding balances through review and analysis of documented findings, billing contract information and systems data to ensure accurate and current accounts.
- Performs billing and reconciliation activities; identifies and documents sources of variances and works with internal departments to determine resolutions.
- Resolves outstanding aging balances for accounts using knowledge of business systems and their relationship to contract analysis, invoicing, and collection.
- Escalates complex billing and account issues to coordinator or management as required.
- Continuously follows-up on open items including resolution status with other departments and escalations for accounts that may move into the delinquent category.
- Establishes effective partnerships and working relationships with relevant internal departments (e.g., Sales, Eligibility, Accounting) to ensure timely and accurate invoicing and resolution of billing and reconciliation issues.
- Prepares timely and accurate billing and reconciliation reports as required.
- Validates authenticity and monitors production cycle time of all proof-of-eligibility documentation submitted by subscribers. Approves and/or rejects enrollment applications.
- Processes enrollment information of new customers, ensuring accurate set-up within the system.
- Reviews, investigates, and makes decisions on all requests for retroactive enrollments. Identifies and resolves applications with discrepancies; tracks, follows-up and reports status on all applications and outbound correspondence.
- Gathers and reconciles monthly enrollment activity data and processes enrollment prepayment checks and credit card charges.
- 1+ years of experience w/High School
- 2+ years' related experience preferred
- Strong analytical, problem solving skills and multi-tasking abilities.
- Detail-oriented; flexible and creative, with strong organization and planning skills.
- Knowledge of Delta Dental policies, procedures, and guidelines.
- Ability to independently prioritize work and establish, understand and follow work rules and procedures, and take action to improve existing processes.
- Maintains the strictest patient confidentiality and adheres to all HIPAA guidelines.
- Ability to confront difficult situations and make appropriate and timely decisions.
- Strong customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with various levels of staff.
- Basic mathematical skills.
Base Pay Information
The national base pay range at the end is a good-faith estimate of what Delta Dental may pay for new hires. Actual pay may vary based on Delta Dental’s assessment of the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities (KSAs), related experience, education, certifications and ability to meet required minimum job qualifications. Other factors impacting pay include prevailing wages in the work location and internal equity. $33,600 - $67,900
