The Mission Defense System Division is seeking a Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 3) or Senior Principal Supply Chain Planning Specialist (Level 4) to join our team in Colorado Springs, CO. This position can be filled with either the level 3 or level 4 based qualifying years of experience.

This position requires a Secret Clearance (interim clearances accepted).

Job Description:

  • Defines and develops material strategy.
  • Responsible for the assessment of supply resources; aggregates and prioritizes demand requirements; works with the program to plans inventory, distribution requirements, and material for all products.
  • Participates in make/buy process, long-term capacity, and resource planning, and end-of-life management.
  • Analyzes and aggregates supply / demand requirements.
  • Analyzes purchase material supply/demand position using applicable tools. Help to plan inventory levels based on dependent and independent Bill-of-Materials (BOM) requirements.
  • Creates/releases requisitions for indirect/capex and program material.
  • Receives/reviews requirements for non-standard parts. Analyzes lead times and identifies critical path procurements.

Additional duties to include but not limited to:

  • Work with the GSC Material Program Manager (MPM) responsible for ASM/ASP OU to help manage material for Colorado direct programs.
  • Responsible for Purchase Requisition input for AMS/ASP direct and indirect material requirements in 1ERP/S4H.
  • Update and manage the PR/PO Tracker for all indirect/capex procurements for AMS OU.
  • Attend weekly tag ups with AMS OU personnel and MDS BU Buyers to walk through the PR/PO Tracker and discuss issues and expedites.
  • Understand all material purchasing requirements.
  • Participate in regular tag ups with MDS BU GSC Procurement Manager and AMS/ASP OU Subcontracts Manager as needed.
  • Support AMS/ASP Prime Proposal efforts as needed.

Basic Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree with 5 years of relevant experience; 3 years with a Master’s for a level 3
  • Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of relevant experience; 6 years with a Master's for a level 4
  • Active interim DoD Secret clearance at time of application

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient in ERP1/SAP with the ability to extract reports and data for analysis.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including expertise in pivot tables, lookups, and formulas.
  • Capable of working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and fluid environment to provide continuous and consistent support to programs.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to communicate cost and schedule effectively.
  • Skilled in drafting, documenting, and processing standard work job training aids.
  • Assist in building the GSC structure at the Colorado sites.
  • Confident in conducting meetings with programs, suppliers, and teammates.
  • Creation and tracking of purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
  • Experience understanding buyer roles and tasks, with the ability to escalate issues as needed.
  • Proficient in software/hardware procurement.
  • Skilled in expediting, tracking, and reporting on purchase requisitions and purchase orders to ensure schedule adherence.
