Senior Software Engineer

Pixelogic provides a broad range of solutions in the realm of film and TV post-production, localization, and distribution. This position is on the team that develops advanced media services and tools to characterize, interpret, transcode, validate, or otherwise transform audio, video, images, and text. We are seeking talented individuals who can help advance the state of the art in media processing.

Remote but based in Los Angeles preferred.

Salary: 120-130K

Description:

• Design, develop, and maintain complex software applications, features, and systems
  using modern software development methodologies
• Analyze and optimize software performance, scalability, and reliability
• Work in an agile team to develop, test, deploy and maintain on-premises or AWS
  services that process video, audio and subtitle contents
• Work with users to analyze their needs and provide technical solutions
• Conduct feasibility studies and design service and application based on requirements
• Mentor team members, and clear up any technical hurdles that come up
• Manage project timelines and update user groups and management on progress
• Implement key components according to requirements and direct development tests
• Prepare user documentation and if needed provide hands-on training
• Maintain project codebase and provide technical support along with the support team
• Perform code review to ensure best coding practices are in place

Requirements

• BS in Computer Science, Engineering or Science Degree, or equivalent
• Proficiency in at least two of the following languages: C++/Java/Python/C#.
• 5 years of professional development experience
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Experience in Linux and system service framework is preferred
• Experience with video and audio processing algorithms is preferred
• Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio or Apple XCode
• Advanced knowledge in AWS or other cloud services is preferred
• Knowledge of system frameworks including Git, Jira and .NET
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Good time management skills, and ability to balance priorities
• Ability to adapt to evolving technologies and processes
