As a Sr. Advanced Manufacturing Planning Engineer, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining project schedules for manufacturing equipment builds and programs. You will work closely with Project Lifecycle Management, Vehicle Integration, Design Engineering, Logistics, New Product Introduction, Operations Engineering, Manufacturing Project Management and other cross-functional teams to ensure the Manufacturing program budget and schedule is built and executed to all customer specifications.
You will:
- Create, modify, and maintain budget proposals and trackers throughout project conception to implementation
- Lead development/ maintenance of project baseline process for cost, schedule and progress and ensure all project systems are implemented according to process and company standards and procedures
- Report out budget status to project executives and cross function teams
- Ensure the project management team is providing updated budget and integrate all changes into the master budget tracker
- Manage Capex program budgets of up to $1B+ value
- Interact with the Project Management, Engineering, Facilities, and Purchasing teams and participate in regular project meetings
- Gather information and prepare reports and presentations of information as needed on the project
- Determine and communicate design changes, scope changes, schedule slippages, and potential impacts and participate in the identification of mitigations
- Ensure trends of cost and schedule are identified, manage change management process and communicate and suggest corrective actions
- Manage Manufacturing Engineering documentation control and distribution
- Standardize manufacturing equipment documentation and trackers
- Ensure project is staffed appropriately, conduct regular staff performance reviews and manage any staffing issues that may arise
You bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in engineering required
- 5-8 years of Project Management or Construction of large capital projects experience
- Experience in the automotive or construction industry is a must
- Possesses strong analytical skills required to review all program controls information and ensure accuracy as well as identify issues, concerns and potential mitigations
- Must be detail oriented and well organized
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive initiatives in complex environments.
- Possesses strong presentation skills and communicates clearly and professionally at various levels both inside and outside the company
- Working knowledge of MS project or Primavera is a must
- Possesses knowledge and experience across multiple functions within product design and manufacturing
