Analyst Income Control- Full Time, Casino Accounting (Harrah's SoCal)

About the role

This position will be responsible for training, developing, and leading the work of the Income Control auditors. This includes training, implementing new procedures and/or audits, researching and troubleshooting as directed by the Financial Accounting Manager. This position will also perform daily audit functions, which include reconciling; analyzing; recording; calculating and summarizing numbers; reviewing documents for proper completion.

 

Our ideal candidate: 

  • BS or Associate degree in Accounting or Finance from an accredited university preferred.
  • 3-5 years of progressive experience in gaming casino accounting and revenue audit functions. Previous supervisory experience is a plus. 
  • Previous training experience is required. 
  • Excellent interpersonal, team building and problem-solving skills are required. 
  • Must be able to effectively mentor, coach, train, and motivate the audit team to establish the team as a well-respected resource to the operations team and empower the auditors to add value at every level.
  • Must be familiar with gaming regulations and adhere to them. 
  • Must be flexible to work any day of the week. 
  • Should be familiar with Bally’s Slot Data System, Casino Management System, Lodging Management System and Micros. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Word. 
  • Must be able to work well with co-workers and work as a team. 
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand English. 
  • Must be able to obtain a State Gaming License. 
  • Must present a well-groomed appearance.

 

About the role: 

  • Applying knowledge and understanding of non-gaming, gaming accounting, and audit procedures towards the goal of developing auditors.
  • Checking work and reporting unusual variances and discrepancies via verbal and or written reports; monitoring and reporting all items that do not fall within sound auditing or accounting procedures.
  • Continuously challenge the process for improvement opportunities and develop a strong working team.
  • Counsel, guide and instruct auditors on the proper procedures of their duties.
  • Establish, design, create, refine, and administer audit training programs to test proficiency.
  • Enters and reviews statistical information into computer system. 
  • Generates various reports for slot, pit, and all audit areas. 
  • Reviews, reconciles, and analyzes various documents.   
  • Investigates any discrepancies identified while performing the above audits. 
  • Must possess excellent command of decision-making and problem-solving techniques and applies them appropriately. 
  • Meets attendance guidelines of the job. 
  • Adheres to regulatory, departmental and property policies.
  • Makes or recommends promotions.
  • Plans day for business needs if necessary. 
  • Monitors auditors during their shift. 
  • Tracking and monitoring slot machine activities and data, analyze results, prepares reconciliations on additional systems, and prepares reports for management.

 

A few more things:          

  • Must be able to analyze and interpret financial information to identify unusual variances and discrepancies.
  • Must be able to maneuver around various areas throughout the casino and withstand cigarette smoke.  
  • Must be able to operate the following equipment: computers, printers, copier, 10 key adding machine and telephone. 
  • Must be able to sit for long periods of time and view information displayed on a computer screen. 
  • Must be able to bend, reach, kneel, twist and grip items while working on duty. 
  • Must be able to lift items up to 25 pounds. 
  • Must have the manual dexterity to operate office equipment.
