**Specimen Processing/ Collector**

Hours:

• Day shift, Full-Time
• 7:00am - 3:30pm
• Monday- Friday w/ rotating weekends and holidays among team
• Area: Central Processing
• Location: Maywood, IL

About the Job

In this role, the Lab Support Service Tech (Central Processing) will support the delivery of patient care through the receipt, processing, and routing of specimens. Provides customer friendly service to any person requesting supplies or information by phone, computer or in person.

Here's What you will do

• Performs assigned duties from the pre-analytical to post-analytical phases of testing according to standard operating procedures. Receives and evaluates all specimens to ensure positive identification and appropriateness of sample. Works with fellow team members to properly triage and efficiently move samples through all phases of testing.

Here is what you will need

Required:

• High School Diploma
• Specimen processing and handling, accessioning, clinical lab, and/or other relevant lab or clinical experience.
• Experience in a hospital or laboratory setting
• Keyboard/data entry experience

Required Skills:

• Requires telephone skills.
• Requires basic computer skills
• Requires strong interpersonal skills and ability to work as a team member including outside of lab
• Requires ability to perform repetitive tasks for prolonged periods of time.

Pay Range: $20.00 – $21.00 per hour 

Actual compensation will fall within the range but may vary based on factors such as experience, qualifications, education, location, licensure, certification requirements, and comparisons to colleagues in similar roles.
