ManTech has need for a Computer Forensics Engineer to join our team in Chantilly, Virginia. Our team offers highly-challenging positions with significant impact on national security in the areas of computer forensics, mobile device forensics, data and media recovery, reverse engineering, intrusion analysis and methodologies, and vulnerability assessments. We take a lot of pride in being able to solve difficult technical challenges and to create new capabilities and tools that may be used in-house and/or shared throughout the Intel Community.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Conduct forensic examinations that are unique within the Intel Community
Create new and cutting edge forensic capabilities
Use creative license to solve technical forensic challenges and create custom capabilities
Maintain responsibility for assessing and filling forensic gaps
Contribute to the development of automated technical solutions to solve complex problems
Interact with and establish consultative relationships with customers and other stakeholders
Create technical reporting in order to explain complex forensic examinations to a wide audience
Basic Qualifications:
2+ years of experience in computer forensics, mobile device forensics, data and media recovery, reverse engineering, intrusion analysis and methodologies, or vulnerability assessments. Bachelor's degree may be substituted for required years of experience.
Ability to demonstrate effective organizational and critical-thinking skills
Ability to demonstrate effective written and verbal communication skills
Knowledge of forensic examinations of high priority digital media such as:
Full-scope digital forensic examinations
File system forensics
Ability to examine unknown file formats
Commercial forensic tool use and custom script development
Technical writing skills
Active/Current TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
The ability to develop forensic tools in Python, C#, C++ or C;
Experience with coding
Security Clearance Requirements:
Active/Current TS/SCI with polygraph
Physical Requirements:
- Remain in a stationary position 50%.
- Constantly operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.
