Job Description

Our Honolulu office is growing and we’re looking for a Senior Fire Protection Designer with ten or more years of design experience. The successful candidate will work within the fire protection engineering department to lead the successful development of design packages.

Qualifications

• Graduation from a certified CAD training program or a Technical/Associates degree in engineering or related field (preferred).
• 5 or more years of progressive experience in AutoCAD and 3D piping software (preferred) for mechanical piping design.
• Proficiency in:
  • 3D piping design software.
  • Leading design and drawing package development on multidiscipline projects.
  • Setting up new projects utilizing the AutoCAD sheet set manager (preferred), template files and dynamic referencing.
  • Coordinating with clients and outside design team members on drafting standards and file exchanges.
  • Coordinating design submittals. You will publish drawings in multiple formats and deliver or upload digital files to clients.
  • Providing quality assurance of final design packages and upload into client document management systems.
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed.

Coffman supports certification through NICET and provides continuing education via national trade associations (AFAA).
