About the role
As a Data Engineer, you build, maintain, and monitor best-of-breed cloud-based analytics solutions. You collaborate with other data engineers and business stakeholders on building production-ready solutions. Your everyday work will consist of:
- Designing, building, and maintaining data pipelines for structured data
- Working extensively with SQL and relational databases
- Building and improving cloud-based data and analytics solutions, preferably on Microsoft Azure and/or Databricks
- Using Python for data processing, automation, troubleshooting, and quality checks
- Collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business in an agile environment
- Continuously improving data quality, performance, and overall data architecture
- Documenting solutions and sharing knowledge within the team

Who are you
We’re seeking a proactive and collaborative Data Engineer who brings technical expertise and a passion for transforming data into business value. You thrive in a hands-on environment, are committed to delivering high-quality solutions, and enjoy working as part of a team. You’re curious, take responsibility for your work, and communicate effectively with others.
In addition to this, we expect the following:
- At least 2 years of practical experience as a Data Engineer
- Strong SQL skills and experience working with relational databases (such as SQL Server, Azure storage solutions, Teradata, or similar)
- Hands-on experience with Python in a data engineering context
- Experience using modern cloud-based data and analytics platforms, preferably Microsoft Azure and/or Databricks
- Interest in designing scalable, reliable, and well-structured data solutions
- Enjoys working hands-on with code and data to solve problems
- Curious about how data can drive real business outcomes
- Takes ownership of solutions and is committed to quality
- Communicates clearly and enjoys collaborating with others in a team environment
- Bonus: Experience with insurance data and/or Guidewire environments
