The selected candidate will have an opportunity to be part of a large Environment, Health & Safety organization in the role of an EH&S Specialist. The selected candidate must be a self-starter, energetic and able to work in a fast-pace collaborative team environment.
This ideal candidate will have relevant Industrial Hygiene (IH) experience with strength in developing and implementing creative injury reduction programs or campaigns. The candidate should demonstrate a track record or continuous improvement IH programs. Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and provide timely support for multiple customers, requests and projects on a daily basis is required. Candidate should have strong communications, interpersonal skills to influence internal and external groups including engineers, factory line employees and management.
What You Will Do
Assigned EH&S duties may include but are not limited to:
- Under the direction of the EH&S Manager, support and implement Ergonomics and IH programs including, but not limited to, office and industrial Ergonomics, Hazard Communications, IH Sampling, IH Equipment Maintenance, ventilation and radiation
- Supporting Environmental and Safety programs when needed
- Monitors, administers, evaluates and coordinates company EH&S programs to ensure a safe workplace
- Develops and advises employee workplace programs related to ergonomics and industrial hygiene
- Coordinates confirmation of policies and programs in accordance with industry and government regulations
- Collaborates across departments to achieve and maintain consistency of EH&S program implementation
- Conduct regular site inspections for compliance with EH&S programs
- Complete qualitative and quantitative IH monitoring and assessments to evaluate employee exposure to potential hazards and interpret data to determine appropriate controls to eliminate hazardous exposures (noise, indoor air quality, air sampling, RF, x-ray surveys). Interpret and communicate IH sample and survey data to affected management and employees
- Analysis of leading and lagging safety performance indicators for trends to drive corrective actions
- Serve as EHS representative for assigned building and functional safety council
- Conduct injury investigations and root cause analysis, develop corrective actions and track to completion
- Contribute to the development and implementation of EH&S strategic initiatives that drive continuous improvement
- Develop programs, processes and procedures to improve EH&S programs, culture for employees and contractors
- Support the improvement of business and site EH&S communications plan
- Support emergency response and enterprise preparedness programs
- Provide instructor led training on various IH topics
- Provide support for other site EH&S programs such as safety and environmental
- Supports HazMat and Medical emergency response incidents
- Support the site to meet EH&S requirements for upcoming internal and external audits including Cal VPP, AS9100 and other internal company assessments
- May need to travel to support Enterprise and Raytheon initiatives
- Interpretation of OSHA, NIOSH, ANSI standards and regulations
Qualifications You Must Have
- Bachelor's degree in related field in Environmental & Occupational Health.
- 2 years of experience with increasing experience supporting industrial hygiene programs or environmental health and safety programs.
- The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued Secret security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
- Experience in HazMat Emergency Response. 40-hour HazWoper.
Qualifications We Prefer
- Prior relevant experience managing IH, ergonomics programs.
- Experience in the development and execution of RCCAs
- Experienced in conducting and developing creative EH&S training.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, but will not hesitate to seek additional
