Audio/Visual Coordinator (Part-Time)

About the role

Work collaboratively and provide support to various departments on campus that may need audio/visual support. Serves as the campus audio visual technician to set up and operate media equipment for live events.

Major Responsibilities

  • Meet with event coordinators to discuss audio and video requirements.
  • Setting up microphones, video monitors, projectors, speakers, and video cameras for events.
  • Conduct sound, visual, and performance quality checks on AV equipment before events and serve as the AV point person during events.
  • Operate sound and video equipment during live events.
  • Collaborate with IT to troubleshoot equipment and ensure events run smoothly.
  • Maintain strong customer relations with event coordinators.
  • Serve on the Employee Engagement and Commencement Committees.
  • Occasional nights and weekends for AV support for campus events.

All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards. Selected candidate for employment will be subject to pre-employment background checks, including criminal history check.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Knowledge of audio and video technologies.
  • Knowledge of software applications (Microsoft 365 and Google Suites).
  • Knowledge of customer service and/or helpdesk support best practices.
  • Ability to deliver customer service with a calm and reassuring presence.
  • Possesses effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively and can organize multiple tasks and projects.
  • Ability to learn new systems efficiently and follow standards and practices.

Education & Experience

  • Minimum of a High School diploma; Associate Degree preferred.
  • Experience working in higher education is preferred.
  • Experience working in a field that directly relates to the responsibilities of the position is preferred.
