The Director of Inclusion and Compliance is a critical leadership role responsible for fostering a respectful, inclusive, and equitable workplace where every employee feels valued, respected, and empowered to succeed. This role will own the development, implementation, and oversight of key programs and initiatives related to compliance training, policy management, People practice auditing and ensuring a welcoming and accessible environment for all. This role will champion initiatives that promote representation, belonging, and equal opportunity within the organization.
What you’ll be doing
- Manages and carries out the personnel actions for direct reports, including but not limited to hiring and scheduling; training and evaluating; coaching and managing performance; making salary, merit, or other compensation recommendations for team of direct reports; and making recommendations and/or taking corrective or disciplinary action as appropriate.
- Responsible for HealthEquity’s compliance training program via partnership with Legal, ensuring it meets all regulatory requirements and addresses key risk areas while being responsible for completion rates and measures of program effectiveness.
- Oversee the development, review, and maintenance of all people policies, processes, and the people handbook, ensuring policies are up-to-date, legally compliant, and aligned with HealthEquity values and culture, promoting fairness and equal opportunity.
- Develop and execute audit plans to assess the effectiveness and fairness of people practices, including employee relations investigations and case management.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive fairness and inclusion plan aligned with HealthEquity’s overall business objectives, including measurable goals and metrics to track progress and impact.
- Ensure all people programs and initiatives are designed and implemented in a fair, equitable, and consistent manner, promoting equal access and opportunity.
- Analyze data and trends to identify systemic issues and opportunities for improvement in creating a more inclusive workplace, provide regular reports on audit findings and recommendations to senior leadership.
- Lead the Created Equal Council, fostering open dialogue and driving initiatives that promote fairness, inclusion, and a sense of belonging for all teammates and the Culture and Policy Committee, ensuring alignment between company culture, policies, practices, and the goal of creating a welcoming and inclusive environment.
- Partner with People Business Partners, Legal, and other stakeholders to provide guidance and support on compliance and cultural matters, with a focus on equity and inclusion.
- Develop and deliver engaging and impactful unconscious bias training programs for all team members, including creating training content and designing a comprehensive rollout strategy to ensure maximum participation and effectiveness.
- Provide strategic guidance, support, and resources to Employee Resource Groups (ERGs), ensuring they are effectively contributing to the strategy and fostering inclusive communities within HealthEquity. This includes facilitating communication between ERGs and senior leadership.
- Responsible for the creation of people compliance, fairness, and inclusion content for annual ESG reporting through partnerships with the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team and other internal stakeholders.
- Supports the CSR team in evaluating charitable partners and initiatives that support HealthEquity’s values and social impact priorities.
What you will need to be successful
- A Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Organizational Development, Social Sciences, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred. A Master's degree in a relevant field is a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in HR compliance, policy management, training, and initiatives related to fairness and inclusion
- Experience leading and managing compliance training programs.
- Experience conducting audits and investigations, with a focus on identifying and addressing potential biases.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate concepts to diverse audiences and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong understanding of employment law and regulations.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement effective policies and procedures that promote fairness and equal opportunity.
