About the role
Primary Purpose:
Managing the Company’s regulatory strategy as it relates to rates, cost of service analysis, and the development of competitive regulatory services.
**This position is open to remote work considerations in the United States.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Considerable experience in FERC and state regulatory matters, ability to represent company as rate witness in FERC and/or state proceedings.
- Prepare or oversee the preparation of statements and schedules related to FERC and/or state proceedings.
- Supervise a team of regulatory analysts and managers responsible for preparing and submitting regulatory filings, cost of service and rate analyses, and pricing for projects or acquisitions.
- Experienced leader of teams that has excellent communication skills and professional manner before regulators and customers.
- Coordination of external rate case consultants on ad hoc rate case and regulatory studies.
- Review of FERC Form 2/3Q/6 accounting and reporting for consistency and compliance with regulations.
- Reading and reporting on rate and tariff filings of other pipeline companies to identify need for changes in pipeline rates, tariff or compliance practices, and development of competitive regulated services.
- Consult with Accounting employees on matters related to FERC accounting, including the use of the FERC Uniform System of Accounts.
- Communication and coordination with a wide variety of people in commercial, engineering, legal, and operations.
- Assist colleagues within Regulatory Affairs on special projects or analyses.
- Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully.
- Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and a consistently high level of performance.
- Will work non-traditional hours as needed.
- Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public.
- Other daily, weekly, monthly, or special project duties as identified, defined, or assigned.
Education:
- BA/BS degree in Accounting/Economics/Finance/Mathematics.
Experience/Specific Knowledge:
- Director: 5-10 years direct work experience and a minimum of 5 years of regulatory experience at the manager level.
- Senior Director: 10-15 years direct work experience and 5-10 years of regulatory experience at the manager/director level.
- Strong analytical skills and logical thought processes, with the ability to identify and resolve simple to complex regulatory and compliance-related issues and to create new and competitive regulatory services.
- Advanced proficiency level in MS Office applications that may include but are not limited to Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations:
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel).

- Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with others and maintain confidentiality when appropriate.

- Job level commensurate with experience and skill sets; position will be filled depending on qualifications, experience and skill sets of the successful candidate.
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to sit for prolonged periods of time.
- The employee is regularly required to use hands to type, finger, handle, or feel. The employee is frequently required to stand and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to walk and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to work within a team and function as back-up to other employees’ responsibilities within the Regulatory department.
- May be required to work non-traditional hours and occasional overtime.
