We’re seeking a Senior Computer Scientist to join our Enhanced Modeling and Simulation (M&S) development team. In this role, you’ll lead efforts across software engineering, data science, and operations research teams in support of the Joint Warfare Analysis Center and other Department of Defense and Intelligence Community missions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and implementation of high-performance computing solutions and machine learning algorithms for national defense systems
• Architect complex software and simulation frameworks, ensuring scalability, modularity, and performance
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship across multidisciplinary teams
• Design and implement data-driven models to support mission planning and system effectiveness analysis
• Identify technology gaps and propose advanced computing solutions using scientific and systems-based approaches
• Drive the integration of advanced M&S tools into operational DoD systems
• Translate mission requirements into technical strategies and actionable software architectures

Required Skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and mentor junior staff
• Strategic thinker with the ability to translate mission requirements into actionable development plans
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for both technical and executive audiences
• Active TS/SCI security clearance required

Required Experience

• 10+ years of professional experience in software development, systems engineering, or computer science fields
• Proven track record of delivering complex software systems in defense, simulation, or high-performance computing environments
• Deep experience with C++, Java, and scripting languages such as Python or R
• Full lifecycle software development expertise, including architecture, testing, V&V, and DevOps integration
• Experience with constructive simulation environments (e.g., AFSIM, ITASE, NGTS)
• Familiarity with network programming, scientific computing, data processing pipelines, and container orchestration tools (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes)

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline
• Experience with machine learning, advanced analytics, or AI frameworks
• Familiarity with DoD software development environments, security protocols, and compliance standards
• Experience with cloud-based services and distributed systems architecture
• Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
