Job Summary

Under the direction of the Revenue Cycle Director and working closely with the Revenue Cycle Leadership team, this pivotal role manages the complete registration process, from pre-registration and scheduling, through check in. The System Registration Manager will work closely with Registration Leads from each clinic area throughout the System, ensuring appropriate and timely communication, accountability, coaching, education, and training. The clinic areas include: Rural Health Clinic, Minidoka Specialty Services, Imaging, OCIC, Outpatient Hospital Services, and the Emergency Department. The focus of this position is to provide excellent customer service, enhance patient satisfaction, develop staff, and achieve fiscal goals. 


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Direct report of all registration staff in all areas of Minidoka hospital, rural health clinic, specialty clinics, IV therapy and others as identified. Registration staff will have a dotted-line relationship with the department heads of the impacted areas.
  • Responsible for participating in all Patient Financial Services staff huddle activities. 
  • Responsible to research all registration related issues and develop ‘error education’ to be shared with the impacted staff. 
  • Responsible to meet with each area on a scheduled weekly meeting to gather feedback on processes and develop relationships with department head as well as staff. 
  • Responsible to oversee all new employee training and follow up with staff as needed. 
  • Provide the connection between the Rural Health Clinic and System Patient Financial Services leadership team on RHC-Specific issues. 
  • Responsible to meet with Leads and have bi-directional communication, with the Registration Leads providing communication to System Registration Manager regarding barriers and issues, and the System Registration Manager providing communication regarding fixes/changes/updates. 
  • Provides coaching and training to all registration staff across various locations in system to enhance the patient experience and overall customer service.
  • Develops an audit system to ensure accuracy. Develops policies and procedures for registration process.
  • Must be able to manage multiple assignments and manage a variety of tasks to ensure deadlines are managed. 
  • Willingness to work collaboratively with clinical and hospital teams.
  • Must understand Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, EMTALA, to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
  • Serves and protects the hospital community by ensuring adherence to professional standards, hospital policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements.
  • Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; participating in professional societies.
  • Actively engage in quality improvement activities.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 2 years of hospital admissions experience.
  • 2 years of leadership experience.
  • Basic computer skills. 


Preferred Requirements

  • Associate degree from an accredited institution.
  • Supervisory experience is strongly desired.
  • EPIC system experience

Physical Requirements

Perceive the nature of sounds by the ear, express or exchange ideas by means of spoken word, perceive characteristics of objects through the eyes, extend arms and hands in any direction, seize, hold, grasp, turn, or otherwise work with hands, pick, pinch, or otherwise work with fingers, perceive such attributes of objects or materials as size, shape, temperature, or texture; and stoop, kneel crouch, and crawl. Must be able to lift 25 pounds maximum with frequent lifting, carrying pushing, and pulling of objects weighing up to 10 pounds. Continuous walking and standing. Must be able to identify, match, and distinguish colors.
