JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The Penn State College of Medicine, Department of Urology, in Hershey, PA, is seeking a Human Research Technologist in to support our growing portfolio of clinical research studies (industry and federally funded). The study coordinator will have regular interactions with study investigators at the Penn State Health Hershey Medical Center and University Park Campus.
Responsibilities include (a) managing daily study operations related to regulatory approvals/modifications; (b) recruiting, screening, scheduling, obtaining informed consent from, enrolling, retaining, and compensating participants; (c) managing data collection and monitoring incoming study data; (d) ensuring protocol and regulatory compliance; (e) develop and design study materials including participant forms, questionnaires, reports, surveys, and data collection instruments; (f) troubleshooting application difficulties; (g) managing datasets and assisting with data analyses; (h) assisting the PIs in preparing reports for the sponsor; and (i) training other staff or students assisting with the project.
This is a 40-hour per week position (Monday-Friday). Evening/weekend hours may be required occasionally. Recruitment will take place in urology practices that treat patients within our health system. Applicant must be comfortable working in clinical research settings.
Familiarity with mobile and internet technology, remote data capture (e.g., REDCap), Microsoft Office including Teams, database management, and statistical software (e.g., R, SAS, SPSS) are required. Strong organizational, interpersonal, and excellent communication skills are essential for frequent interaction with research participants, investigators and staff at multiple locations.
Bachelor’s degree, 3+ years related research experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience are required.
This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding.
