Overview
LMI is seeking applicants for a mechanical engineering position in the Northern Virginia/Washington, DC region. The mechanical engineer should be experienced in both engineering design tools as well as hands-on performance.

Responsibilities
- Design and documentation of parts and assemblies in Solidworks or similar parametric design software
- Operation of prototyping equipment such as 3D printers, small 5-axis CNC, and vacuum forming
- Profile, test, and troubleshoot small engines
- Inspect and repair lightweight composite structures
- Design mechanical interfaces such as brackets and fixtures
- Produce mechanical documentation such as specifications, drawings, assembly guides, and design reports
- Prepare and monitor project schedules
- Provide technical guidance and assistance on mechanical engineering-related issues
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering
- Five (5) years of experience in mechanical engineering
- This position requires an active secret clearance
