The opportunity

 

The Reporting and Analytics (R&A) delivers key management and financial reporting across the firm.   The successful applicant will work within the R&A’s Delivery Team which maintains the reporting warehouse and associated processes. Activities range from end-to-end development and maintenance of the reports, writing SQL stored procedures for processes and reports, being a connection point between the Product Line Lead and the technical and Quality Assurance (QA) teams. The BDA translates functional requirements into detailed technical specifications, supporting the development cycle and drives functional validation until enhancements and resolved defects are ready to be moved into Production, acting as a to implementing changes in the design and architecture of our data warehouse. The DMI team has an important role working with and supporting the R&A report development team.

 

Additionally, the role provides support for data consumers, reviews regular data updates, conducts functional and data-related validations and sends out communications when necessary. Data consumers are mainly R&DA teams as well as some external consumers in other functions or organizational entities. The Backend product line is focused on sourcing and integrating different data sources, organizing them in a generic, business oriented and consumable data model and applying EY’s business rules as well as managing and maintaining the core reporting structures and supporting tools. All Essentials tools, additional supplemental reports, analytics tools as well as some external recipients will be supported by this product line. Further integration and optimization of the reporting backend is planned, as well as moving it to a modern technology stack. The main responsibility is to manage the continuous enhancement and defect management of the backend based on requirements from the different data consumers or upstream changes as well as to ensure smooth operations and good & timely consumer support.

Your key responsibilities

 

• Turn data needs and business rules into requirements (user stories) including detailed acceptance criteria ensuring quality, consistency as well as generic and consumable solutions that all data consumers can benefit from
• Configure and maintain database servers and processes in liaison with IT teams
• Monitor Database health and performance and analyze and fine tuning of processes/SQL coding. Assist developers with query tuning and schema refinement
• Perform scheduled maintenance and support release deployment activities after hours
• Create SSIS packages: Develop, maintain, schedule. Develop reports for the business team as well as for administrative purposes
• Analyze, solve, and correct issues in real time. Provide suggestions for solutions
• Refine and automate regular processes, track issues, and document changes
• Advanced skills and experience with Power BI Report Development (Pro License) and Proficient in Power BI Service Management.
• Strong understanding of Data Analysis Expressions (DAX).
• Advanced knowledge of ETL processes with Power Query.
• Experience in building complex Power BI dashboards and expert in visualization.
• Design and create SQL queries, interpret advance SQL queries and extract or manipulate data for reporting and analysis purposes.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and Excel 365 complex functions
• Knowledge in Power Platform tool such as Power Apps, Power Automate and Power Pages.
• Validate enhancements as well as resolved defects from a functional and data accuracy point of view
