Job Description

Salary: $51-70k

Reporting to the Assistant Controller, the Staff Accountant will join the team that ensures TuneCore’s financial activities are accounted for accurately and in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. This is a highly collaborative role within the finance team providing cross-functional support to multiple departments. The ideal candidate is a team player seeking a great opportunity for growth in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.

• Reconcile bank statements: Take ownership of entering daily bank activities and reconciling monthly bank statements in multiple currencies
• Analyze Budget Variances:  Partner with each department to review spending plans and ensure accuracy of cost center expenses in addition to reconciliations of variances between actuals vs. budget
• Maintain and Update accounting records and file: 
  • Calculation of monthly prepaid expenses and accruals
  • Collaborate with A/P (accounts payable) to process weekly payments ensuring payments are made in a timely manner
  • Ensure accurate coding of A/P invoices and credit card charges
  • Properly set up all new vendors to receive payment via various platforms
  • Partner with finance team members to ensure all accounting entries related to A/R (accounts receivable) are prepared and reviews
• Conduct month-end and year-end close processes:
  • Assist with Journal entries
  • Complete and update roll-forward schedules of Prepaids, Accruals, and Intercompany accounts
• Perform ad-hoc projects as needed
• Assist with annual 1099 and 1042-S filings and financial audits

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance or related area
• 1-3 years of accounting/audit experience
• Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
• Highly organized, analytical
• Intermediate to advanced excel skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Experience with Oracle a plus

Education:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance required
• 3-4 years of Full Cycle Accounting or related experience
