Senior Accountant

Description

Responsible for firm’s accounting environment to ensure appropriate accounting policy and procedure to maintain adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and regulatory compliance.

Reports to: Controller

Responsibilities:

• Maintain appropriate internal control procedures to best ensure reporting accuracy and compliance adherence
• Participate/lead internal audit activities
• Timely, accurate and complete financial statement preparation.
• Reconciliation of monthly interim and year-end balance sheet accounts
• Completion and/or review of daily cash reconciliation
• Analyze and effectively communicate firm operating performance to pertinent stakeholders both internal and external.
• Participate/lead firm budgeting and forecasting activities
• Firmwide consolidated budgeting
• Studio-level budgeting and forecasting
• Maintenance/adherence to firm benefit requirements
• Support reporting requirements
• Working knowledge of various plan document requirements
• Primary support in preparation and execution of annual financial audit, tax work, ESOP valuation and other interim tax filings, as necessary.
• Ability to effectively provide/support project level cost analysis, forecasting and management.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with accounting concentration
• 5+ years of accounting experience
• Possess strong working knowledge of generally accepted accounting and cost accounting principles
• Demonstrated strong competence in utilizing various accounting and/or project management software.
• Proficient in use of MS office suite
• Ability to learn new programs
• Ability to manage confidential and sensitive information with discretion.
• Must be organized, with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
• Ability to communicate effectively, timely, and professionally

Preferred:

• A/E/C industry experience
