Description:

As a H&W migration Chapter Leader you blend strong Software Engineering knowledge with a passion for coaching, mentoring, and developing associates. You are committed to improving the value delivered to our customers by collaborating with other leaders to establish standards for your chapter, influencing strategic decisions and building high quality software solutions. In this role, you will be playing a key role in the migration effort of complex H&W clients.

Manages the development of critical software components, using databases, Cloud tools, XML, JSON, SQL, REST, performance tuning, batch job architecture, Git Stash, and Jenkins. Draws on in-depth knowledge of the business or function to provide business unit-wide solutions. Researches and recommends new technologies in support of the strategic direction of the business unit and participates in the research and recommendation of appropriate models, methods, tools, and technologies to achieve business-unit-wide solutions. Crafts and builds highly scalable software solutions by managing, planning, and prioritizing product vision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains critical multi-tier applications.
  • Ensures chapter talent composition aligns with strategic business priorities including workforce planning critical to provide increased value and results for customers and the business.
  • Influences strategic backlog and prioritization decisions related to software development.
  • Measures performance through established guidelines to deliver agreed upon business, technology, and people result.
  • Aligns chapter members across squads to ensure the optimum utilization of talent while also builds learning opportunities to develop skills.
  • Sets and applies standards and ensures the work performed is aligned with established technology road maps.
  • Removes impediments to deliver value.
  • Improves stability and resiliency of software applications and batch processes by improving software engineering standards and quality.
  • Designs, develops, and modifies complex and major software systems, using scientific analysis and mathematical models to predict and measure outcome and consequences of design.
  • Develops and directs software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
  • Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plan installation of a new system or modification of an existing system.
  • Identifies and acquires talent needs to aid in resource planning and talent allocation across large organizations.
  • Sets vision, goals, and direction of team/organization.
  • Plans and leads organization-wide initiatives.
  • Provides leadership, technical supervision, and expertise to multiple teams in broad technical areas on complex organization-wide projects.
  • Regularly provides guidance, training, and coaching to other team members for performance and career development.

Education and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and six (6) years of experience in the job offered or six (6) years of experience developing calculation applications in a financial services or healthcare domain.

Or, alternatively, Master’s degree (or foreign education equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, Mathematics, Physics, or a closely related field and four (4) years of experience in the job offered or four (4) years of experience developing calculation applications in a financial services or healthcare domain.


Skills and Knowledge:

Candidate must also possess:

  • Experience managing client migration projects in a healthcare recordkeeping domain -- planning, execution, risk mitigation, and executive reporting.

  • Experience designing and developing Information Technology (IT) architecture -- frameworks, software/applications, and technology -- using Java, Object-Oriented design and analysis, design patterns, Web Services, and Batch Frameworks; and facilitating change reviews, release management, and infrastructure change schedules.

  • Experience developing and maintaining multi-tier applications, using Java, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Web Services, Angular, XML/JSON, and SQL.
