Description
SUMMARY
This position is looking for a Certified Pharmacy Technician to join the Atrius team at our site in Braintree, Massachusetts with a full-time open schedule with availability during open business hours of Mon-Fri 8-8p Sat/Sun 10-5 and rotating holidays. Performs a wide range of routine and complex pharmaceutical duties in support of pharmacy operations. Assumes a lead role among support staff within the pharmacy. Relieves the Pharmacist of duties related to the intake of new prescription information and the handling of Schedule II controlled substances per MA Board of Pharmacy regulations. Must possess Pharmacy Technician Registration, as required by the Massachusetts Pharmacy Board of Registration as well as National Pharmacy Training Certification.
EDUCATION
High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
Graduate of an approved pharmacy technician program or institutional/retail pharmacy experience.Must be at least 18 years of age.
CERTIFICATIONS/ LICENSES
Must currently be a Certified Pharmacy Technician in the state of Massachusetts with an active pharmacy technician license without restrictions from the MA Board of Pharmacy.
Hold an active National Pharmacy Training Certification without restrictions.
Certified in Immunization Administration Course by an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (“ACPE”) accredited training program or become certified within 90 days of entering the role.
Successfully completed Certified Pharmacy Technician Continuing Education (CE) credits per calendar year as required by National Pharmacy Technician Certification and in accordance with Pharmacy Staff License Monitoring and Maintenance of Credentials Policy
American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum 2 years’ experience in a retail pharmacy or outpatient pharmacy setting preferred.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
SKILLS
Must possess working knowledge of pharmacy operations and cash handling experience. Requires knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice and patient confidentia
