We are looking for a Sr. I&E Maintenance Engineer to join our Site Services team in Geismar, LA.

This position will report to the NCG Instrument/Electrical and Controls Manager and is responsible for providing instrument, electrical and controls engineering expertise for the Utilities & Demin Water areas of the Geismar site. This includes steam assets such as Cogen’s boilers/HRSG, air assets such as air compressors and Demin water assets. This position is to assure proper design, installation and repair of instrument, electrical and controls equipment according to regulatory and BASF standards.  This position provides expertise to support maintenance, operations, and capital project activities. Additionally, this position ensures a culture of continuous improvement employing LEAN Manufacturing tools. The scope is instrumentation, controls, and low voltage electrical, systems. Control’s focus will primarily encompass GE Mark Vie controls for cogeneration gas turbine units, Triconex Tricon & Trident systems and PLCs (primarily Allen-Bradley). A secondary controls focus will include supporting the area controls system engineer and technicians with Foxboro I/A (EVO) control system applications and troubleshooting. 

As a Sr. I&E Maintenance Engineer, you create chemistry by...

  • Provide troubleshooting support and recommendations to operating units on equipment repair/ reliability including emergency work reviews
  • Provide troubleshooting support for controls and automation systems
  • Supports project design, commissioning, and startup activities.
  • Performs engineering design, implementation, and startup of small maintenance projects
  • Provide technical support to Maintenance Superintendent, specialists, and crafts on difficult repair activities
  • Participate in Root Cause Failure Analysis and execute corrective actions for complex and/or repetitive problems
  • Initiates and/or modifies predictive and preventive maintenance programs as necessary
  • Responsible for defining and ensuring strategic spare parts are managed and maintained
  • Assist in recommending training and development options for in-house maintenance resources
  • Using your SAP, Microsoft Excel and analytical skills you will provide oversight of critical compliance program needs such as SIS, NFPA-85/86, DEQ and D-Risk PM review, setup, modification, and execution
