JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
Penn State Intercollegiate Athletics, a Division 1 and Big Ten Conference Institution, is seeking an Assistant Recruiting Coordinator for Offensive/Defensive Personnel and Recruitment.
This position will assist in the coordination of the football program's Offensive/Defensive recruiting strategies and operations, specifically with regards to the football program's recruiting database, recruiting work flow, recruiting areas and prospect evaluations.
The successful candidate will assist in the initial evaluation of offensive/defensive prospective student-athletes' high school, junior college and university transcripts (transfers) to determine NCAA eligibility and potential acceptance to Penn State University; assist the recruiting staff’s efforts with respect to writing, texting and direct messaging defensive prospective student-athletes and their parents to establish a relationship and keep them informed of all events and changes in the football program. Additionally, this position will assist with the management of the football program’s offensive/defensive scholarship grid which tracks the current roster along with top targets; this duty involves compiling information related to evaluation, eligibility and recruitment into a comprehensive snapshot for the coaching staff to effectively manage the current roster and target the best recruits possible by position. This position will be responsible to coordinate all aspects of the offensive/defensive assistant coach’s fall, winter and spring recruiting travel.
Typically requires a Bachelor's degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with various recruiting software such as XOS, Radar and Hudl preferred. Note that evening and weekend work and overnight travel will be required.
This position requires the following clearances: PA State Police Criminal Background Check, PA Child Abuse History Clearance Form, and Federal (FBI) Fingerprint Criminal Background Check. This position also requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties. A valid driver's license and successful completion of a motor vehicle records check will be required in addition to standard background checks.
