What you’ll do
The primary responsibility of this role is to maintain, install and repair process equipment, machinery, structures, piping systems, and mechanical equipment in production and production support plants across the site according to the instructions and procedures established by the manufacturer and Bayer.
- Perform routine, unscheduled, and preventative maintenance jobs that 1) return disabled equipment to a safe working condition or 2) thru regular routine or preventative activities, maintain equipment in good, safe working condition to eliminate unscheduled outages;
- Install new equipment or make modifications to existing equipment that will enhance the operation of process equipment;
- Troubleshoot equipment that is not performing to standards and complete the necessary repairs for optimum performance of the equipment;
- Maintain excellent housekeeping standards;
- Operate all mobile equipment safely and within the working limits of the equipment. Operate all lifting equipment, both stationary and mobile, safely, within the load limits of the equipment;
- Maintain accurate records of time spent and material used on work orders.
- Participate in reviews regarding repairs, replacements, failure analysis, installations, and modifications of equipment;
- Computer knowledge, understanding of diagrams, prints, etc.
- Observe all company work and safety procedures;
- Ensure proper use and care of tools, equipment, and facilities.
Required Qualifications:
- High School diploma or GED equivalent;
- Hours: Monday through Friday 6:45am start time; 8 or10-hour shifts. Overtime required as needed.
- Ability to pass a post-offer physical and perform the essential functions of the role with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Valid Driver’s license and eligibility to drive a company car or pooled vehicle (driving record must meet guidelines based on the company’s Risk Screening for Hiring Drivers and MVR will be reviewed as part of pre-employment screening).
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least four years of fulltime work and/or military experience,
