Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented leader to manage the BP&A Regional Optimization team. The primary responsibility of this role is to lead the data management and analytics support for VCO’s Regional Optimization models. This role is accountable for data integrity, price generation oversight, meeting material, team performance, and strong partnership across VCO and Commercial to support timely, decision-ready insights.

This position leads a team of six analysts supporting the three Value Chain Optimization (VCO) regions’ short-term planning and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong leadership, analytical skills, financial and business acumen, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage data for VCO Regional Optimization models, including accuracy, timeliness, and maintenance of supporting systems. Datasets include planning and actuals data related to clean products, chargestocks, blendstocks, heavy fuels, specialties, crude avails, production and consumption, premise data, and inventory.
  • Provide oversight of clean products terminal price generation which is used as inputs to the regional models; ensure consistency, quality, and alignment with VCO’s short-, mid-, and long-term needs.
  • Own development of meeting materials supporting Planning and CI cycles for Senior Leadership and ELT, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and decision readiness.
  • Guide, support, and review analytics for Planning and Continuous Improvement (CI) teams, including liquid volume gain, RO Value Add, and ad-hoc requests
  • Encourage analyst team to identify efficiencies and implement improvements to their processes
  • Guide and review team‑developed analytics and materials prepared for ELT forums to ensure clarity and decision readiness
  • Partner with VCO, IT, and Operations Research (OR) teams to test, implement, and provide feedback on solutions impacting the supporting data systems, including Profisee and Planning Scheduling Input Tool (PSIT).
  • Build and sustain strong working relationships across VCO and Commercial organizations by engaging stakeholders to assess effectiveness, clarify expectations, and evolve team responsibilities as business needs change
  • Lead, develop, and retain a high‑performing analytics team by setting clear direction aligned with MPC strategic pillars and objectives, strengthening business acumen and analytical capabilities through targeted training, and coaching team members for growth and performance.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related discipline required
  • Eight (8) years of experience in Accounting, Finance, Commercial or Related Field required
  • Experience presenting to senior management
  • Experience with optimization models and financial analysis preferred
  • Experience in data analysis tools such as Excel, SQL, or similar applications
