About the role: Join a team that is dedicated to creating world-class development and deployment environments that are highly scalable and resilient. At Xperi, we aim to disrupt the TV industry by introducing TiVo OS – a brand new, content-centric operating system for Smart TVs, based on the legendary American TiVo brand! As a Staff Engineer in the Broadcast team, you will be part of a highly talented team working towards building a robust, secure and scalable platform. You will get an opportunity to work in a global environment and collaborate with other teams spread across Europe, America and Asia. What you will get to do:
- Design, build and maintain efficient, reusable, portable and reliable C++ code (25M+ LOC; majority in C/C++, but Python and other languages are also there!).
- Identify bottlenecks and bugs and devise solutions.
- Help maintain code quality, organization and automatization.
- Proactively seek assistance when required and actively contribute to team activities including design reviews, code reviews and mentoring.
- Read, understand, and implement technical specifications.
- Stay current about industry developments and Internet technologies.
- At least 5 years of professional experience.
- Experience in UNIX/Linux programming.
- Good C++ skills and solid understanding of object-oriented programming.
- Drive and commitment to working in a highly dynamic environment.
- Fluency in English, both written and spoken.
- Eager to learn and work on embedded devices: TVs and STBs.
- Knowledge of Python or JavaScript is a plus.
- Knowledge of web and broadcasting standards.
- Experience in TV and STB integration projects – embedded Linux or Android.
- Experience in development and debugging of embedded systems.
- Ability to propose, design and develop scalable solutions.
- Keen troubleshooting skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
