Responsibilities & Qualifications

TekSynap is seeking a visionary Director, Federal Solutions & Innovation Architecture to spearhead our internal infrastructure innovation, next-gen network design, and strategic proposal initiatives. This role blends high-impact technical leadership with cross-functional collaboration across business development, proposal capture, AI enablement, and lab expansion projects. The ideal candidate is an experienced enterprise network architect and product strategist who thrives in both hands-on engineering and executive-level engagements.

 

This position goes beyond conventional architecture roles, leveraging deep expertise in secure hybrid networking and cloud technologies while enabling strategic growth, mentoring, and enterprise transformation efforts across TekSynap.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Architecture & Innovation

• Architect and document secure, scalable, and resilient hybrid networks across on-prem, Azure, and AWS environments.
• Serve as the technical lead for proposal-driven initiatives, including solution strategies, white papers, and enterprise network designs.
• Lead network modernization efforts through SDN, SD-WAN, Zero Trust, microsegmentation, and BGP/IPv6 optimization.
• Prototype and evaluate AI-driven networking enhancements, anomaly detection, and observability frameworks.

Leadership & Collaboration

• Act as a cross-functional leader, supporting TekXlerate lab initiatives, proposal teams, and business development with technical insight, strategic guidance, and customer-facing solutions.
• Lead subset teams in scaling internal and lab infrastructure at TekSynap’s office locations.
• Collaborate with C-suite and senior executives to align business priorities with technical strategies.

Mentorship & Enablement

• Mentor junior engineers and promote knowledge-sharing across the IT Solutions team.
• Advocate for Infrastructure-as-Code, network automation, and DevSecOps practices using Ansible, Terraform, and Python.

Proposal & Business Development Support

• Contribute to RFI/RFQ/RFP response development, technical writing, and capture support for enterprise networking components.
• Engage in go-to-market strategies, pricing models, and architecture alignment to support business scaling initiatives.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent. (preferred)
• 15+ years in enterprise networking with Cisco, Juniper, and virtualization ecosystems.
• 10+ years leading architecture teams and strategy for federal and commercial networks.
• Proven delivery of enterprise scale network transformations and DoD/IC architectures.
• Deep hands-on expertise in cloud networking (Azure, AWS), hybrid cloud security, SD-WAN, and routing protocols.
• Experience managing and contributing to AI-based product development and internal SaaS platforms.
• Familiarity with agile methodologies, Jira, product roadmaps, and multi-team sprint planning.
• Exceptional communication skills, including executive-level presentations and industry forums.
• Active CCIE and/or AWS Solution Architect certification preferred.
