The Opportunity
Ally is seeking an Underwriting Assistant who will support our auto dealer partners by protecting their most valuable assets -- their inventory. For a dealer who finances through Ally, we provide physical damage coverage for the cars on their lot, strengthening the bonds between our organizations. An Underwriter Assistant will handle administrative tasks to support the Underwriting team which evaluates risk according to location, physical and moral hazards, individual risk characteristics, inspection reports, loss experience and company guidelines in order to accept, decline or modify a business submission. Location: hybrid in office Detroit, MI or Schaumburg, IL (3 days in office / 2 remote)
The Work Itself
- Process dealer application requests timely and accurately into the business system.
- Provides responsive service to customers regarding status of quotes and policy issuances.
- Provides information regarding products and services, such as components of Insurance coverages that are in existing policies (i.e. False Pretense, Comprehensive, Collision, etc.).
- Responsible for all communications with agents and dealers regarding policy and program provisions Assist Underwriting Teams (i.e. endorsement processing, policy issuance, entering loss history, and generating flood map information).
- Direct incoming calls, as necessary, to appropriate personnel.
- Submit policy documentation to our Surplus Lines filing company on a timely and accurate basis.
