GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Inland Ecologist provides expertise and guidance to staff and third parties to ensure that the agency protects the natural resources under its stewardship and that projects undertaken on DCR stewarded property have a minimal impact on the resources and the environment.   Senior Inland Ecologist conducts and oversees natural resource inventory and monitoring and ecological assessments at DCR inland properties; conducts ecological evaluations of properties for potential land acquisitions, projected impacts of climate change and compliance with ongoing ecological plans; coordinates seasonal rare species and habitat management at DCR properties; reviews proposed DCR facility improvements projects for potential habitat impacts; leads or participates in ongo
