We are looking for an experienced Technical Program Manager to join our Product Engineering TPM org and drive highly cross-functional technical and strategic programs that drive significant business impact. We provide our riders, delivery customers and communities with a transportation experience that is not only safe but joyfully delightful, and build advanced automation and workflows that empower operators for greater efficiency and safety, all to bring the future of transportation into the present. Product Engineering org’s charter is to maintain our inventory (aka fleet), understand demand and supply, meet customer demands intelligently, delight customers with driverless and in-car experiences, enable remote assistance and customer support when needed and scale these services to diverse set of customer scenarios.

As an L6 TPM, you will be responsible for defining program strategy, handling dependencies, mitigating risks, and ensuring successful delivery of critical initiatives from inception to completion. You will partner with engineering, product management, design, and other teams including senior leaders/executives to deliver outstanding results. This role requires a blend of strong technical expertise, exceptional program management skills, critical thinking and the ability to influence senior leaders and partners across various organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership - Define and drive the overall program strategy, including goals, objectives, and milestones for large-scale, cross-functional technical programs.

  • Program Execution - Drive program execution by coordinating with cross-functional teams, providing clear direction, removing roadblocks, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.

  • Execution Excellence - Lead and drive multiple technical programs simultaneously, ensuring on-time delivery and high-quality outcomes. Be laser focused on programs meeting commitments by holding individuals, teams and leaders accountable.

  • Technical Expertise - Leverage your deep technical understanding to make informed decisions, anticipate risks, influence trade-offs and guide engineering teams towards successful outcomes.

  • Stakeholder Management - Collaborate effectively with senior leaders, product managers, engineering teams, and other partners to align priorities, resolve dependencies, and ensure successful program execution.

  • Risk Mitigation - Proactively identify and mitigate risks throughout to ensure timely delivery and high-quality results, developing contingency plans as needed.

  • Communication - Clearly communicate program status, risks, and mitigation plans to partners at all levels, including senior executives.

  • Mentorship - Guide and mentor junior program managers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development within the team.

  • Process Improvement - Find opportunities to improve program management processes and methodologies. Implement solutions to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
