Responsible for managing the daily operations of the location’s delivery services, warehousing and storage operations to assure maximum utilization and efficiency of facility personnel and equipment while maintaining full compliance with regulatory, safety, and organization guidelines.
Essential Functions
- Manages the warehouse and storage facilities within all OSHA, DOT, EPA, and GreenPoint Ag EHS guidelines
- Directs the daily product delivery schedule to ensure an emphasis is placed on customer service
- Trains, motivates, and evaluates Material Handlers and Truck Drivers on the safe and efficient use of equipment and vehicles
- Receives and inspects all incoming products for quantity, quality, and condition of product
- Develops and maintains local emergency procedures and fire prevention programs and trains location personnel in proper response procedures
- Monitors product inventory and continuously works with GreenPoint Ag wholesale distribution and other retail facilities to transfer/receive product; orders product, verifies accuracy and condition of product received
- Maintains a high level of expertise to establish themselves as a reliable and credible source for agronomic knowledge
- Demonstrates teamwork by working with Truck Drivers and Material Handlers as needed
Supervisor Responsibilities
- Supervisory responsibilities that may include hiring, scheduling, and assigning work, reviewing performance, and recommending salary increases, promotions, transfers, demotions, or terminations.
- Staff includes hourly employees - warehouse personnel, loader operators, applicator operators and truck drivers for assigned location.
Required Qualifications
- Specific site qualifications and progression may apply, consult with local team
- Skill Level I – 3+ years of warehouse experience, preferably in an agricultural retail environment
- Skill Level II – 3+ years of experience with experience making employee related decisions (hiring, terminating, performance, etc.). Advanced Inventory management skills and typically responsible for other areas of the location, such as Safety and some Sales
- Experience in agriculture or related industry, preferably in a sales or management role
- High school diploma or GED; may be offset by experience; agriculture or related degree helpful
