Compressor Warranty Process Internship - (May - Aug 2025)

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSABILITIES 

•  Work within the MAHLE Compressor Warranty team to perform root cause analysis on returned products

• Assist in receipt and documentation of warranty or assembly plant return compressors for multiple customers

• Follow documented warranty return analysis process from initial assessment of the return and related information through all applicable testing within the Lockport lab.  This will lead to identification of the failure mode and root cause

• Produce data summaries and reports for return analysis for use by compressor engineers to communicate to the manufacturing plant and customers

• Participate in the problem-solving activity for any new or unique failure modes.  This may require development activity to identify the failure mode and root cause

• Participate in activities with the manufacturing plant or suppliers related to identification and execution of corrective actions to address the failure modes and root causes

• Assist with the continuous improvement of the warranty process

QUALIFICATIONS

• Must be enrolled in a 4-year accredited university

  • Major: Mechanical Engineering

  • Preferred Class Standing: Junior, Senior 

  • Overall GPA must be a 3.0 or higher

• High level of analytical skills and mechanical aptitude

• Experience with precision rotating equipment

• Experience reading technical drawings and interpreting GD&T (geometric dimension and tolerancing)

• Good written and oral skills – ability to convey technical concepts

Hourly Rate: 18.00 - 23.00
