The Need  

 

For over 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence, we are seeking a Senior Lead, Grants Finance. 

 

The Senior Lead - Grants & Partnerships, South Asia is a full-time, temporary position for 1 year. The role reports to the Regional Director, Program Resourcing & Advancement and will be responsible for grant and restricted gift development, acquisition and management of a portfolio of corporate and institutional grants and restricted gifts for all South Asia programs. This position will serve as IJM’s point of contact with grantors and major donors, as required. This role will also be responsible to identify new funding opportunities in alignment with IJM SA’s strategic plans and lead in design and development of new proposals. The role will ensure that all grants are effectively managed from start-up to closeout in accordance with requirements and IJM standards. The position will be responsible for achievement of all grant deliverables within the planned budget and planned scope and will work closely with field leaders to ensure success. This role will also work to build capacity of IJM staff and local partners to ensure efficiencies in grant acquisition, reporting and budget management.   

 

The success of this role is measured by the following Key Result Areas (KRAs): 

 

  • Effective grant proposal development resulting in increased resources for South Asia programs, as needed based on region’s capacity and need. 

  • Effective grant proposal development for implementing partners as required and requested. 

  • Ensure South Asia program execution and reporting is timely and comply with donor requirements. 

  • Achievement of grant and budget objectives 

  • Capacity building of field program staff and partners on grant requirements, communication and reporting processes, and other capacities related to grant proposal development and management. 

  • Regular and effective coordination with donors contributing to strong relationships and positive evaluations of IJM grant performance. 

  • Timely dissemination of downstream partner contracts and support to field offices to monitor partner activities and progress on grant deliverables when subcontracts are in place. 

This position is based in the Washington, DC area and is available to be hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays). It reports to the Regional Director, Program Resourcing & Advancement and is only available for candidates with the right to work in the US.
