Description

Job Purpose:
- The Sr. Director of Financial Planning & Analysis at FLINN SCIENTIFIC INC will lead the financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and analysis functions. This role is pivotal in driving strategic financial decisions and providing insights to support the company's growth and profitability. The Sr. Director will collaborate with senior leadership to align financial strategies with business objectives and ensure the financial health of the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of the company's financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes.
- Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management to support decision-making and enhance business performance.
- Analyze financial results, identify trends, and provide actionable insights to drive profitability and efficiency.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment of financial strategies with business goals.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and investment decisions.
- Oversee the preparation of financial reports and presentations for executive leadership and stakeholders.
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards, and implement best practices in financial management.
- Manage and mentor a team of financial analysts, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.

Qualifications

Required Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
- A Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a related field is highly preferred.
- Professional certification such as CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst) or CPA (Certified Public Accountant) is advantageous.

Required Experience:
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in financial planning and analysis, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
- Proven track record of successfully leading and developing high-performing finance teams.
- Extensive experience in budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling.
- Demonstrated experience in strategic planning and execution at a senior management level.
- Experience in a similar industry or working with scientific or educational products is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership and managerial skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Proficient in financial software and tools, with advanced Excel skills.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong business acumen and strategic thinking capabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively across departments and influence decision-making at the executive level.
- High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-orientation.
