Senior Data Scientist

Team 
The Engineering & Data team (E&D) is the central tech hub of Voodoo. The team aims to build the most innovative tech products to strengthen Voodoo’s leadership in mobile gaming while successfully accelerating product diversification such as non-gaming apps or blockchain gaming products. Part of E&D’s focus is to provide a state of the art growth-engine to distribute and scale our apps & games. By joining the team, you will take part in this journey of designing and building long-term projects which help our business teams in creating content to advertise our games to millions of future players!Our best-in-class E&D team is 85+ people, including software engineers, cloud infrastructure engineers, data teams  UI/UX designers, product managers, and QA from 11 nationalities. Within the E&D team, you will be joining a cross-functional technical Data Science team that leverages massive amounts of data in order to create business value. The team is composed of top-tier data scientists and is looking for a passionate team player.
As a Senior Data Scientist, you will contribute to the enhancement and optimization of Autobid, a central tool for Voodoo’s User Acquisition across its 100+ active games portfolio. Autobid is integrated into the Voodoo Growth Platform, which centralizes User Acquisition automation tools. It not only streamlines User Acquisition but also offers valuable recommendations to our experts. At its core, Autobid uses machine learning to predict cohorts' Life Time Value, integrating multiple sub-models to achieve this. Autobid is also responsible for the mitigation of data gaps due to Apple's App Transparency Tracking initiative. Ensuring the precision and efficiency of Autobid's models is vital, given its direct financial impact and its critical role in Voodoo’s overall strategy and operations.
This role requires to come to the office once every 2 weeks as a bare minimum.

Role

• Implement highly performing Gradient boosting models as well as Deep Learning models when necessary.
• Be an example to others on good modeling and coding practices; be a reference in rigor and good-quality work.
• Contribute to high modeling performance through insightful ideas and initiatives shared with the team or tested on your side.
• Identify and solve complex problems such as improvement of ML models to predict LTV, managing the complex data pipelines, integrating the predictions in the business systems.
• Take ownership of our products modeling pipelines and integrate your models into the product code base.
• Have a perfect understanding of the product and how it interacts with its users.
• Have a rich understanding of the mobile gaming industry, the company strategy, our products  and their fit within the company’s daily operations.
• Have efficient communication with your product manager, teammates and stakeholders, be able to voice strong opinions on the product roadmap to the product manager.
• Be a team player by supporting your teammates and sharing with them your knowledge or new discoveries.

Profile

• Experience on large scale end-to-end projects with critical business impact
• Expertise on tabular data modeling with gradient boosting (LightGBM, XGBoost, CatBoost)
• Extensive experience with Python
• Experience with coding and MLOps good practices 
• Cloud experience needed (ideally AWS: S3, Sagemaker…)
• Experience with implementing models within a complex product
• Airflow, DBT and SQL experience is a nice to have 
• Scala and Spark experience is a nice to have
• You enjoy working in a team, learning new things, sharing knowledge
• Clear communication with both a tech and business audience
• Experience with Deep Learning will be valued
• Strong achievements on Kaggle will be valued
