The Role:

• Demonstrate expertise in building complex mechanical assemblies.
• Be highly detail oriented and able to keep detailed documentation of builds.
• Ability to demonstrate and teach learned technical skills/knowledge with other technicians.
• Assemble production and prototype assemblies.
• Proficient in troubleshooting Body In White, Closures In White & Closures Mechanisms concerns
• Collaborate with engineers on the team to help complete engineering builds.
• Ability to execute work with minimal supervision.

Qualifications:

• Strong fundamental understanding of Metal Fabrication, Joining Methods, Rivet Nuts/Rivet Studs, and Tap & Die threading.
• General understanding of automotive repairs with the ability to take a vehicle and components apart and put them back together.
• Experience with root cause analysis at the component and system level
• Familiarity with high precision measurement tools including bore gauges, calipers, micrometers, microscope, 3D scanners.
• Proficient with hand tools, power tools and build equipment.
• Excellent communication skills for collaborating with engineers and technicians across organizations.
• Works safely in environments with high voltage and heavy equipment
• Minimum of 5+ years of experience in Automotive Repair or Prototype and Fabrication
• Ability to use 3D CAD software to read/interpret the drawings, & interface with the tool for 3D printing
• Must be able to obtain a clean Driver Background Check from Motor Vehicle Department and demonstrate driving skill sufficient to operate a prototype vehicle.
• Ability to travel occasionally.

Preferred:

• ASE Certification or Degree from Automotive Technical Career School
• Master Technician certification from Luxury Automotive dealer
• Prototype an Fabrication experience

Education:

• High School Diploma
