Team Lead - Student Support Services - Gifted Education
Job Description:
Responsible for leading and facilitating assigned Advanced Academics and Gifted Programming Teams. Develops andpromotes positive community relations among various district and community clientele.
May be required to travel using personal vehicle.
MINIMUM EDUCATION OR FORMAL TRAINING:
- Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field, Endorsement in Gifted Education, Master’s Degree preferred
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:
- Experience in individualizing instruction based on identified gifted strength areas
- Experience in developing, assessing and maintaining Advanced Learning Plans
- Experience in facilitating ALP and other family meetings
- Experience in administering, interpreting, and communicating the results of academic/cognitive assessments
- Demonstrated expertise in Gifted Education
SUPERVISORY DUTIES:
- Screening and interviewing of highly qualified staff
ESSENTIAL ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:
- Work is performed in a general office setting. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate
ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Occasional lifting five (5) to ten (10) pounds
- Frequent sitting
- Occasional bending, squatting, or standing
- Must be able and willing to obtain other certifications required for the position
Position Specific Information (if Applicable):
Responsibilities:
Support teachers with programming related to identifying, planning for, and serving Gifted/advanced learners
Assist with identifying and planning for needs/resources
Assists with screening and interviewing staff
May be required to travel
Assist with coordination and facilitation of team meetings specific to area of expertise
Identify and coordinate specific professional development needs of individual team members, building teams, and/or district
Collaborate with personalized learning team to identify system needs to meet the unique needs of all learners
Facilitate and coordinate multidisciplinary team approaches and problem solving to meet the unique needs of gifted/advanced learners
Implement processes and monitor fidelity of implementation of service delivery model pertinent to area of expertise, to ensure all student needs are appropriately identified and programming services are provided as outlined through the AU Gifted Education Program Plan
Perform other related duties as assigned or requested
Identify team needs and building supports related to specific area of expertise
Assist with staffing allocations in buildings
Communicate and facilitate district initiatives and develop and coordinate plans for implementation as related to specific team’s area of expertise
Certifications:
Teaching License - Gifted Education Endorsement - Colorado Department of Education
