About the role

Overview

The Wholesale ACH Portfolio Risk Officer supports the Wholesale LOB Relationship Managers in assessing and recommending approving of all non-credit risk associated with the sale and implementation of the Bank's treasury product suite. The position is also responsible for ensuring that the overall client experience is favorable while balancing the Bank's overall risk profile and understanding the nature of the various treasury management products and transactions and the risk posed to the Bank, as well as the client's capacity to handle the risk. The ACH Risk Officer will also take the lead with the underwriting and assessment of the risk for all new treasury management transactions by applying all bank and departmental policies and procedures to credit packages submitted by the Treasury Management Sales Officers [TMO] and Treasury Management [TM]. In addition, the ACH Risk Officer will be responsible for managing the Bank's ongoing servicing and renewal of existing treasury management clients, by reviewing upcoming annual review dates of all TM relationships.

 

Principal Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Follows policies and procedures and exercises good judgment to ensure client privacy, Bank security and fraud/loss prevention.
  • Primary duty and responsibility includes independent assessment and evaluation to recommend preliminary and future processing limits and exposure levels of all new Treasury Management originations, and Office Deposit Accounts submitted for review and approval.
  • Conducts independent periodic and annual reassessment of clients and determines appropriate exposure thresholds for the type and volume of transactions processed by the Bank.
  • Leads due diligence, credit package production and approval process.
  • Adheres to BSA/AML Policy, procedures, and requirements as set forth in the Office Deposit and ACH underwriting guidelines.
  • Supports Wholesale Risk Directors with sound recommendations for approvals or declinations.
  • Responsible for adherence to credit policies, guidelines and applicable regulatory guidelines.
  • Responsible for complying with all ACH rules and understanding the NACHA rules applicable to all transactions.
  • Effectively partners with Relationship Manager(s), Treasury Management Sales Officers and Treasury Management.
  • Demonstrates broad knowledge of the client’s industry; is aware of benchmarks, standards, methodologies and structures; has up to date knowledge of client industry practices and processes; keeps abreast of trends and development.
  • Responsible for the management of the City National Bank Connect (CNBC) underwriting pipeline system.
  • Primary contact internally for the Risk Department’s Business Continuity Plan
  • Responsible for the control of the Corporate, Business Banking and BPB Environmental Phase I Review process.

Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of corporate/commercial banking experience, treasury management / cash management experience or equivalent. 
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
  • Strong communication and analytical/technical skills are required.
  • Good interpersonal skills are required to deal with banking professionals with various skill sets, risk management staff, clients and auditors
  • Clear and articulate oral and written communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of financial services/banking business.

Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business or related field.
